Description

The Agreena Program function investigates the science required for on farm activity and data measurement that can support verification by independent standards. The function comprises of Science & Advisory, Standards, Program & Data Operations groups.  Sitting within the Program Data team, you will guide a dynamic and high-achieving group, focusing on the strategic and operational aspects of monitoring, recording, and verifying farmers participating in the Agreena program.

Responsibilities

As our MRV Carbon Specialist, you will drive the day-to-day operations and help shape the long term vision of our farmer quality assurance process, ensuring robust and compliant monitoring, recording, and verification (MRV) of participating farmers' regenerative practices. You'll be a key architect, helping design and implement robust MRV systems that meet evolving market standards and stakeholder expectations. Your insights will guide strategic decisions, shaping the process for how we measure and verify carbon certificates, ensuring maximum value for farmers while maintaining scalability.

Looking to the future as Agreena expands you’ll play a key part in the design and development of flexible and modular MRV systems capable of accommodating new regions, verification partners, program types, verification technologies, and standards.

Job requirements

  • An MRV expert: You possess a deep understanding of carbon accounting methodologies, verification protocols, and data management best practices within the agricultural context stemming from prior experience within the carbon accounting industry.
  • Operational Excellence: You have the skills required to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Agreena MRV process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant standards. You’ll be able to implement industry best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the program’s effectiveness while maintaining scalability.
  • Team Empowerment: Someone who’s a team player and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in while also leading, mentoring, and inspiring a dynamic group with the Program Data team.
  • Technical Understanding: Have an understanding of how to build integrity and reliability of the data processed throughout the Agreena program. While you won't be directly leading on the project's technical data flow, having a good understanding of how to make a robust MRV process would be highly advantageous.
Bonus Points If You:
  • Have prior experience within a project which is applying for, or has attained, Verra certification.
  • Possess knowledge of regenerative agricultural practices such as reduced tillage and cover cropping coming from direct experience in farming, agronomy, or related fields
  • Have some experience leading and motivating people through periods of significant change and growth.
  • Have familiarity with remote sensing technologies, data analytics, or machine learning technology within agriculture.
  • Have an understanding of big data handling in Python, SQL, GIS software or data visualisation tools, especially if that includes creating automated and scalable data solutions.
